About the Artist
Benoit FERONBenoit Feron has been traveling the world for some twenty years, meeting people and seeing the most beautiful landscapes on earth. In 2014, his trip to East Africa's Rift Valley was a revelation. There he encountered both "the beauty of the world and the diversity of its peoples", which he immortalized in a book entitled "Portraits of the Rift" and in an exhibition at the Hangar Art Center in Brussels. "My work is eclectic, inspired by colors and the diversity of peoples," explains the man who has been influenced by Steve MC Curry and Sebastiao Salgado. In 2022, he presented "Sense of Identity" at the Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles, highlighting "the diversity and eccentricity of peoples and skin as a canvas for artistic expression." He also likes to flirt with abstract art, whether through (very) tight framing or aerial photography. Over the past 15 years, he has exhibited regularly across Europe and published numerous books. The most recent, Mundari, co-published with his photographer wife, Anne-Françoise Tasnier, focuses on the tribes of southern Sudan. At the end of 2023, he took part in the Atlas of Humanity exhibition in Paris.
