About the Artist
The artist behind the pseudonym Raskar initially trained in fine art before embarking on a career in advertising, “an ideal field for approaching the notion of ‘concept’ and the meaning of images”. He then found a way to express himself through what he calls “fictional collages, born of a digital marriage”. His guiding principle: “never be satisfied with an existing image, rethink it to compose it in an original way”. And there’s plenty of originality in his assemblage of auto racing gear with a Ken doll in briefs, or his red chilli pepper morphing into a hot 1950s Formula 1 Ferrari. For him, supercars are the symbol of eternal childhood. He presents his work on a dedicated blog, Raskarplanet, whose stated aim is to offer metaphorical and poetic photographic collections centred on cars, of course, but also on nature, wine and vanities (Vanity Fair), so as “not to forget the fleeting nature of life”.
