Exotics animals

Natural, emotionally moving, and wild, animal photography is different from traditional photography in that the subject is always unpredictable and sometimes capricious.
Photographers share their vision and emotion related to their contact with wild animals. The urge to roam pushes photographers closer and closer to exotic and ever more impressive animals.
Pedro Jarque Krebs immortalises scenes of animal life and then retranscribes them into a world which looks much like a fashion photographer’s world. He stages wild animals – lions, pink flamingos, elephants, tigers – outside their natural habitats, far from the African or the Middle Eastern savanna, against deep black backgrounds.
His goal?
Warn the world of the extinction of our planet’s most noble species.

Polar contrast
Capturing the snow’s whiteness (in skies just as white), while emphasising the landscape, the animals, and the flora in a gripping contrast: an art requiring great talent. French photographic artist Nolwenn Hadet excels in this domain. In her photographs, you can admire polar bears in their Nolwenn Hadet habitat, and the photographer regularly leaves France to explore the planet’s icy surfaces like the Arctic.

Black & White lions

The king of the animals, symbol of power and beauty, with his golden mane, impresses us with his force and his physique. His piercing gaze is the focal point of these black and white photos. Although portraits are typically only for people, Laurent Baheux breaks from this convention. His animal photography valorises the black and white in its natural state, next to/near his clan. He thus aims to capture the magnificence of this creature. He catches animals – lionesses and tigers and other felines of the savanna – in black and white . Through his lens, animal photography is overflowing with poetry. He captures (like no other photographer) the gaze of these ferocious animals, who are also full of tenderness. He injects tenderness and humanity into the ferocious gaze of the king of the animals.
