Kate Woodman

Born in Darmstadt, Germany, Kate Woodman grew up in Connecticut before setting down her suitcases in Portland, Oregon. Initially trained as a structural engineer, she discovered a passion for photography in 2011, on a mission in the debris of an earthquake in New Zealand. Motivated by a need to document her environment, she soon became fascinated by the narratives of imagery, which she likes to pepper with conceptual touches. She has worn many hats since then, including photographer, artistic director, retoucher, sometimes stylist, scenographer, lighting operator, and producer. Her engineering knowledge has honed her flair for balanced composition and acute detail, which she places in service to her renowned clientele, such as Airbnb, Nike, Harman Kardon, Marie Claire, and British Vogue.
