The Finest Photos of Architecture
Architecture plays an important and specific role in the art of photography. It emerged for the first time via the lens of Joseph Nicephore Niepce in 1826. This visionary created a shot of the interior courtyard of his family residence. This initial image inspired many more. Between effects of perspective, distortion, focal length, and depth of field, a perfect mastery of the camera and equipment is key. A tilt and shift lens enables you to highlight an architect’s construction through any kind of shot. Using this technique, there are photos from Paris to New York, in colour or black and white, a building in modern design or the nobility of a historic monument with the sky in the background and an exposure in full sun.
Our Renowned Photographers Specialising in Architecture
Thibaud Poirier has lived in many cities throughout his life. His openness to the world has taught him to shed light on the cultural differences hidden within human constructions, by honing his point of view. He chose to photograph only churches and libraries. These timeless photographs, without any other human presence, reveal the unique beauty of these prestigious venues. Accompanied by his tripod, the photographer Aurelien Villette accords great importance to history. He captures locations, from both interior and exterior. He opts for original perspectives to showcase forms and the dynamism of architectural movements. Above all, he applies his singular gaze to a house or other abandoned building and presents a collection of images of neglected sites, where nature has sometimes reclaimed its stake.
