Photographs of Japan: some of the finest landscapes and city shots
Japan is truly a cultural goldmine. There are a thousand and one ways to showcase Japanese culture through a camera lens. It was Felice Beato who was the first to take photographs of East Asia and of Japan.
Yellowkorner has taken great care to select photographs that will take you on a voyage across this fascinating country. Discover enchanting shots of Japanese cities with unique photographs of Tokyo, highlighting its characteristic shop fronts. While visiting temples, many photographers have captured pictures of Mount Fuji. There is no shortage of embodiments of Japanese culture and traditions throughout the landscape and its people. Indeed, it is not uncommon to see photographers modelling Asian women with flowers in their hair against a backdrop of cherry blossom trees. In this sense, these emblematic shots can range from portraits to landscapes.
Our leading photographers who have travelled across Japan
Before praising the merits of our Yellowkorner artists, we would like to take a quick look at the history of Japanese photography. Japan has given birth to many great photographers, each with their own unique style, two examples being Masahisa Fukase and Nobuyoshi Araki, two photographers who have marked the history of Japanese photography.
At Yellowkorner we have artists such as Masashi Wakui, Xabi Etcheverry, and Kusakabe Kimbei, who have travelled throughout Japan and have taken photographs imbued with the character and cultural particularities of this country that they know so well.
All our fine art photographs are available at a wide range of prices, depending on the customization of the finish, framing, and format of the photograph of your choice.
